Capturing Love and Adventure
Capturing Love and Adventure
A Wedding nestled in the serene beauty of Plain, Washington, Mountain Springs Lodge set the stage for a wedding that was nothing short of magical. Surrounded by majestic mountains and a blanket of fresh snow, it was a scene straight out of a winter fairytale—a perfect backdrop for a celebration of love and commitment. As wedding photographers, we had the privilege of capturing every moment of this special day, from the heartfelt exchange of vows to the joyous celebrations that followed.
The ceremony itself was a sight to behold, with a gentle dusting of snow lending a magnificent quality to the proceedings. One of the most touching moments of the day was when the couple chose to share their vows privately, away from the prying eyes of guests. Against this idyllic backdrop, the couple pledged their love to each other, their words carrying across the winter air, filled with promise and devotion. As they stood together, surrounded by nature's beauty, we were granted a glimpse into the depth of their love and the significance of this day in their lives. It was a moment of pure authenticity and vulnerability—a privilege to witness and capture through our lens. After getting warm from the cold air the guests arrived to pick up their blankets and cups of hot chocolate to keep warm during the ceremony. Beautiful oak benches lined the ceremony site where the couple would publicly devote themselves to each other in front of their esteemed friends and family.
The reception that followed was a joyous affair, with laughter and music filling the air as guests danced the night away. Against the backdrop of twinkling lights and snow-covered trees, the newlyweds celebrated their union surrounded by friends and family, creating memories that would last a lifetime. But perhaps the most unexpected highlight of the evening came after the formalities were over, when the wedding party discovered a delightful surprise awaiting them—a bouncy house! Amidst fits of laughter and playful antics, guests embraced the opportunity to let loose and revel in the joy of the moment. It was a spontaneous and unforgettable addition to an already magical evening, adding an extra layer of fun and excitement to the festivities.
When we were in the early stages of getting in touch with Kaleb and Tessa one of their big needs was not actually for their wedding day, but for the day following. They were in search of photographers who could gear up and join them on the mountain for a fun day of skiing with their friends. Both of us are avid snowboarders and spend the majority of our winters traveling to different ski areas. This was a dream come true for us and we could not have been more thrilled.
The morning after they said "I do", we grabbed our cameras and snowboards and joined the wedding party for a day of exhilarating fun on the slopes of Steven's Pass. With the sun shining overhead and fresh powder underfoot, it was the perfect way to continue the celebration and create even more memories together. Armed with a game plan and a sense of adventure, we hit mountain, capturing stunning action shots of the couple skiing in their wedding attire—a unique and unforgettable experience that perfectly encapsulated the spirit of their love and commitment to each other. Despite the occasional challenge of navigating the mountain terrain with our expensive gear in tow, we emerged unscathed, our hearts happy and our memory cards full of images that would serve as a lasting reminder of the joy and camaraderie shared on this special day. This was an experience that we had never had before and we were more than excited to share this day with one of our lovely couples.
Overall this was one of our favorite weekends with clients and now new friends. These memories and photos will be cherished for a lifetime and will be thought of quite fondly. We could not have asked for better weather and scenery on their lovely wedding day along with bright blue skies for the following ski day. Being able to do some of our favorite activities, such as snowboarding and taking amazing pictures, was truly such a pleasure and we look forward to many other adventures in the future. We never know where our cameras might take us next but you can bet that we'll be ready!
